This week I spent a morning cleaning and tidying the camp store at Beaconfield. This is not a job that anyone likes but one that is essential to the running of the site.
It was a hot sunny day and I was soon wishing I had chosen another day to come. I worked steadily and after 2 hours I was pleased with the look of the camp store. It was clean and tidy.
I was hot and tired but as I walked out of the hut I was met with the beautiful sight of the campsite bathed in sunshine. I sat on Alice's bench and enjoyed the moment. What perfect compensation for my hard work.
